The Canadian Pet Expo is an absolute pet friendly family event. Whether your family member is a furry, feathery, or scaley friend, we canโ€™t wait to meet them! We understand that not all pets are socialized in a large community setting, so please be your petsโ€™ best advocate and make sure they are comfortable attending.

Worried about bathroom breaks?

The CPE offers two dog rest stations onsite, and same day re-entry with a stamp. We also understand that bathroom accidents happen but donโ€™t worry, your VIP bag will have a poop bag to scoop up those accidents and we also have a specialized team on-hand to assist clean-up!

Bringing your pet to the expo?

Please download, complete, and print the pet waiver prior to the event. All pets must be on a 48โ€ non-retractable lead and no greater. May we suggest a stroller or carrier for small pets so they can enjoy the Expo as well?

Sara Carson & Canine Stars Stunt Dog Show

The Canadian Pet Expo is thrilled to announce the return of Sara Carson and her Super Collies ย to the Spring CPE!ย  AND joining Sara is the Canine Stars Stunt Dog Show โ€“ yes the same performers you saw on Americaโ€™s Got Talent! Sara and the Canine Stars will be making their Eastern Canada debut at the Spring CPE, and we canโ€™t wait to welcome them to the Expo.

 

The high-flying Canine Stars educational entertainment act features a world-class team of dog trainers and their adopted dogs from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, The Netherlands and South Korea. The Stars have been touring North America since 2012 โ€“ and are now making a stop at the 2023 Spring Canadian Pet Expo! Everyone loves dogs these days, and the Canine Stars dogs are not only professional athletes, they are loveable pets that adore meeting their audience too. You will laugh, cheer, and have a blast watching big air stunts, frisbee freestyle routines, high jumping, agility and other extreme dog sports. Did you catch their act on Americaโ€™s Got Talent in 2021? Nowโ€™s your chance to see The Canine Stars in person!

Sara Carsonโ€™sย Tricky K9 Workshop

The Canadian Pet Expo is thrilled to announce Sara Carsonโ€™sย Tricky K9 Workshopย is coming to the Spring CPE! The CPE will be hosting Sara Carson and her Super Collies Tricky K9 Workshop all three days of the show!


Details:

  • Times: 7:30am to 10am Friday April 7, Saturday April 8 and Sunday April 9
  • Maximum of 10 participantsย per Workshop session
  • Workshop Registration fee of $100 +HSTย and includes 1 admission to the Canadian Pet Expo on the day of your Workshop
  • Registration and day selection is based on a first-come-first-serve basis. Donโ€™t delay!
  • Limited auditing spots available each day – no dogs permitted – $20 and includes 1 admission to the Canadian Pet Expo on the day of your Workshop. Auditors must remain seated in the grandstand at all times.
  • Attendees are required to bring: Towel, Bowl with large flat bottom, Hair Tie and are to wear running shoes
  • Sara recommends you bring your dog hungry, you will be using a lot of treats and this way your dog will be motivated!
  • No age or breed restrictions (Please, no females in season)
  • CPE Pet Waiver (link to the Waiver) must be completed and brought with you
  • Registration is complete once fee is paid.ย  Demand for this popular workshop is high, therefore we cannot hold spots without payment in advance.
  • Deadline to register is March 31 or when Workshops are full.


About The Workshop

Tricky K9s is a two hour dog trick workshop taught by Celebrity Dog Trainer Sara Carson. Starting with basic behaviors, you and your dog will enjoy learning several novice and advanced level tricks. Going over many eye-catching behaviors that are sure to impress your friends and family! Spend some time bonding with your k9 companion.

The Canadian Pet Expo Cat Club presents a 18 ring Back-to-Back show with a Special Jr Exhibitor ring! From the Abyssinian to the Sphynx many of the greatest breeds of cats and their giant personalities will be on hand for the weekend. For three full days cats will be seeking important points in the judging rings looking for that championship title. It all makes sense that this great cat event is hosted by the Worlds Best Cat Litter and Catit!

Cat Shows 101: What You Need to Know

What are cat shows?

Cat shows are exhibitions where cats are judged by breed standards, health condition, and beauty. As you might know if youโ€™re a cat owner or have been in the past, cats have a lot more personality, grace, and agility than theyโ€™re given credit for in the media. Cat shows are every bit as interesting and exciting as dog shows are – and theyโ€™re a great way to connect with other owners, learn more about our feline companions, and take home a prize or two.

Can anyone join a cat show?

YES! Both Pedigreed Cats and Household Pets can join in the Cat Show. We want to see your feline friend at one of our shows!

Welcome to the CPE Small Animal Village โ€“ big personalities come in small packages! Many families have been engaging in the world of small animal adoptions, so we are excited to showcase breeders, rescues, and specialty products for hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits and other small pets.

The Canadian Pet Expo would not be complete without birds! Whether you are a new bird owner, considering this type of pet ownership, or have responsibly cared for birds your entire life, join us at the Spring CPE for you chance to meet Canadaโ€™s leading pet avian specialty shop owner in this unique, one of a kind Bird Zone. Enjoy the colourful Parade of Breeds, engage with Ethical Parrot Owners and chat with the breeders at Homesteadโ€™s Hatchery. The Bird Zone is a paradise for our Feathered Friends!

Calling all humans owned by pet birds!

Exotic Wings and Pet Things and the CPE present the 2023 Parade of Parrots taking place at the Spring Canadian Pet Expo. This participant-driven stage show is your chance to show off your feathered friend (s) while helping to educate future pet bird owners about responsible pet bird companionship. No special skills/tricks required, all you need is to bring your pet bird (can be a canary, budgie, love bird, any species of parrot etc.) and be willing to share what it means to be a responsible bird owner with the audience. Birds can be in small cages, in a carrier, or body harness safely โ€“ whatever they are comfortable with โ€“ while you parade across the stage while the show MC describes your bird. You are not obligated to speak on stage, but we, and the audience would love to hear your perspectives on bird ownership. All ages welcome. Registration is FREE and includes 2 adult admission passes per registrant per day of participation. Remember, for this event to be a success we need your participation! While the Parade of Parrots is coordinated by Exotic Wings and Pet Things and the CPE, this event is all about you and the special relationship you have with your pet bird. CKC Canine Good Neighbour

The Canine Good Neighbour Program is a 12-step test, that when completed successfully, will ensure that one of our most favoured companions, the dog, is accepted as a valued member of our communities right across the country.
